Life, or something like it
Life, or something like it. (07/13/2006 01:15 PM)
Funny how sometimes things don't work out the way you want them too ... but better.
My house... my new house... you remember the one I was supposed to be moving in by the first of August? Well things just are not looking good for that time frame... in fact I am still in my old house... waiting for the loan company to, (trying to be nice here) get off their butts and get a move on!
BUT even though this isn't how I wanted things to work it's going to be better for me. I won't have to worry about where my daughter is going to be during the day while I am at work... school will be starting soon and so that worry will be behind me... That's always nice I guess.
My ex-husband leaves this weekend for the big desert in Iraq. I am sure he'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers for safety. I don't envy the man that's for sure. My daughter and I will be spending part of this weekend with him then taking him to the airport.
Funny... how in the past few weeks that he's been dealing with packing etc. He's somehow started to actually care about what is going on with me. I have to smile when I think about the phone call I got the other night while grocery shopping. He asked me if I was ok. When I responded, "Yes even though I had to make an unexpected trip to the dr's office". Usually... a statement like that would go right over the mans head and he wouldn't think twice about it.
But... this time, he actually took the time to ask me what was wrong and if there was anything he could do to help me. It was a nice change. It was one of my biggest complaints when we were married... he never seemed to care.
Maybe people do change? Or as someone so nicely pointed out to me on Sunday ... maybe it's because I am not around to nag him and he's actually beginning to see that I am a nice person... really I am! Lol
I think nagging is an ugly word. And really there wouldn't be any reason to nag a person if they did what they said they were going to do in the first place... right? If you don't want to be asked more then once to do something... then do it the first time and you wouldn't have to hear about it again...
Just my opinion, of course. I do realize that there are people who nag... just to nag. I prefer to think of it as asking... hopefully nicely. But then again each of us have our own perception of things... it's what makes the world go around and life interesting.
